Charles Hudson

Elon – Charles William “Charlie” Hudson, 75, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 18, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.  A native of Danville, VA, he was born July 18, 1945 to the late William “Bill” Jerry Hudson and Esther Mae Butcher Hudson and was the husband of 54 years to Margaret “Peggy” Hudson of the home.

Charles was a US Army Vietnam Veteran and was a longtime member of St. Mark’s Church.  He was the President/Co-Owner of Burlington Refrigeration, Inc. where he would later retire.  He enjoyed playing golf, RVing, traveling, watersports and trips to Belews Lake with his family. He was also an avid NASCAR fan and loved joking around and playing pranks.  Charles was a loving husband, father and “Pa” and will be missed by all.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy; daughters, Christie H. Brown (Jon) and Angie H. Clapp (Scotty); grandchildren, Hudson Clapp, Caleigh Brown, Colton Brown and a sister, Lois H. Haywood.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Ben Bishop with military honors to follow. Friends and family are welcome to attend the service and may greet the family following the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.
