Charles Francis (Burkey) Pastovic, Charlie, Chuck, Our Daddy and Papap, born in Patton, Pennsylvania on November 21, 1935, and ran into Jesus’ arms on March 28, 2023.
Specialist Charles Pastovic served in the United States Army and The Pennsylvania National Guard from 1954 to 1960 where he was an Internal Missile and Radar Doppler Repairman. Chuck bravely decided to start a new life with his forever bride of 63 years, Regina “Jean” (Shandor) Pastovic of Lilly Pennsylvania, in Cleveland, Ohio. He was an electrician at J & L Steel for 10 years and then worked at Ford Motor Company in Brookpark where he was a Maintenance Supervisor for 35 years. Our Daddy moved to Olmsted Falls in 1972 where he spent the remainder of his life raising his four daughters: Danette Kuru (Dave) of Hillsborough, NC, Jeanette Anderson (Robert) of The Woodlands, TX, Lynette Kilbane (Terry) of Brunswick, Ohio, and Charlette Bauer (Dave) of Mebane, NC. Chuck was a man of few words but you always knew what was in his heart. He never missed a thing and came up with many brilliant ideas that helped his family and Ford be successful. He will be remembered for his smile, wittiness and always making everyone laugh. He loved to golf, fish, bowl, hunt and most importantly, dance with his Jeanie.
The legacy of Chuck and Jean includes the children of Danette and Dave Kuru: Erin (Armando) Rivera and their children: Noah, Declan, Liam, and Vince; Jessica (Stephen) Kimball and their children: Landon and Aaiden; Maggie (Jordan) Kuru-Riley and their children: Mckaela, Jennings, and Jovie; and Nicole (Jacob) Stephenson and their children: Jax and Rhett. The children of Jeanette and Bob Anderson: Sarah (Nic) Schrader and their son Brooks; Mackenzie Anderson and Luke Anderson. The children of Lynette and Terry Kilbane: Vanessa Zemba and her son Nathan, Kyle (Jessica) Kilbane and their children: McKenna and Owen, and Bradley Kilbane. The children of Charlette and Dave Bauer: Allie (Josiah) Baltozer and their children: Olivia and Burkey; and Mary Grace (Michael) Greason, and Charles Bauer. In total, Papap had 13 Grandchildren and 15 Great-Grandchildren and 2 on the way. His love for Jean was so big it expanded into all of this family. There are many more adopted children, including Tracy Catanzarite and Bridgett Hanson and their families as Chuck and Jean opened their home to anyone and everyone who needed a delicious meal, a place to stay, a good laugh and some love.
