Chris Charles Huber, 62, of Elon NC, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 9th 2024, after a 6 year battle with Synovial Sarcoma. He was born on July 21st, 1961 in Daleville, Indiana to the late Charles F. Huber and Peggy J. Robbins Huber and was the husband of nearly 39 years to Deanne Del Corso Huber, who survives.
He worked at LabCorp for 26 years in Special Chemistry and loved the people he worked with.
His survivors include his wife, Deanne; their children, Zack Huber, Lindsay Driver, Justin Huber (Laura); his grandchildren (the light of his life) Addy, Reagan & Evan Driver and Charlie & Chandler Huber; four sisters, Vicki Brown (Mike), Terri Wright, Penni Reese, and Lorri Davis (Doug); and many nieces and nephews.
He was a Hoosier & loved Indiana sports including IU & Pacers Basketball and the Indianapolis Colts. He also loved the Chicago Cubs and made yearly trips to Wrigley with his sons and grandsons.
He was a car fanatic. On a nice day you would find him taking a cruise in one of his Cadillacs or zooming down the street in his Corvette. (He would jokingly use the terminal cancer card to bribe his wife for a brand new Corvette Z06, but she never budged).
Though his cancer was progressive, he never complained. He would tell everyone how much he appreciated his life and the people in it. He will be remembered for the laughter he brought all of us. These memories will last us a lifetime.
Our family would like to thank Duke Cancer Center and the many medical professionals who supported him through his journey.
He didn’t like attention so his wishes were to be cremated with no services (anti-social, even in death).
