Christine Carver Buckner

Christine Marie Carver “Chriss” Buckner, 71, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after several weeks of failing health. She was born in Forsyth County on January 10, 1952 to the late Allen Bradford and Zora Smoak Carver and was the wife of 50 years to Henry Nelson Buckner.

Chriss was a member of Gibsonville United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, who were the apples of her eye.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Chriss is also survived by her sons, Jared Buckner (Stefanie), Justin Buckner (Jennifer); grandchildren, Elizabeth Buckner, Katherine Buckner; sister, Lea Carver (Michael Borovsky); brother, Alan Carver (Ginny), numerous nieces and nephews and her feline companion “Buddy”.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Judy Whiteheart and brother-in-law, Ken Whiteheart.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00pm at Gibsonville United Methodist Church by Rev. Carol P. Carkin with the burial to follow at Salem Community Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 4-6 on Saturday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the home.
