Haw River Clara Horner Sipe, age 81, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday at the hospice home surrounded by her family. She was a native of Alamance County and she was the wife of 53 years to Clyde D. Sipe who survives. Clara retired from Drapery Boutique in Haw River. She was an active member of Lowe Memorial Baptist Church where she served in the past as a Sunday School Teacher and a nursery worker. Clara enjoyed being a part of the Haw River Senior Citizens and she was a loving and devoted Christian wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her husband of the home, Clyde D. Sipe; daughter, Torey Sipe McBride and her husband, Marcelino M. Salazar of Haw River; son, Greg Sipe of Burlington; granddaughter, Savannah McBride and her boyfriend, Federico Hernandez of Burlington; grandson, Raymond McBride of Haw River; great grandsons, Jose Hernandez and Christian Hernandez both of Burlington; brother, Harold Wayne Horner of Elon and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Everette Bud Horner, Sr. and Noami Brown Horner and a brother, Everette Horner, Jr. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hospice of Alamance-Caswell for their kind and compassionate care for Clara. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Lowe Memorial Baptist Church by Rev. Bill Gindlesperger and the burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Mebane. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
