Clarice Moore

Clarice Leland "Clare" Moore, 76, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Twin Lakes. She was born in Alamance County to the late Marvin H. Moore and Jessie Broye Moore. Clare was a member of Macedonia Lutheran Church, DAR, UDC and on the Twin Lakes Board of Directors. She had been a resident at the Twin Lakes campus since 1994, when she retired. Clare had never married and devoted her life to education; she received her master's in Business education from Elon University and went on to begin working on her PhD. She was a business college professor at Atlantic Christian College, which is now Barton College in Wilson, NC. Clare enjoyed genealogy, needlework, and reading and was very passionate about Polio Education. She is survived by her nephews, Charles Moore and Carl Moore and all of her family and friends at Twin Lakes. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00pm Monday, January 28, 2013 at the May-Foley Chapel at Twin Lakes by Father Mark Menees. The family will receive friends from 1pm to 1:45pm prior to the service on Monday at the May-Foley Chapel. Memorials may be made to Twin Lakes Auxiliary, 100 Wade Coble Drive, Burlington, NC 27215.
