Clennon Lee Apple

Clennon Lee Apple, 74, went to his heavenly home on Saturday, September 23, 2023.  He was a native of Alamance County and the son of the late Robert Lee and Elva Smith Apple.

Clennon is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sylvia Bridges Apple, daughter Shannon Carter (Steve), son Wes Apple, granddaughters Erin Dail (Jennings) and Katy Riggan (Robert), great grandchildren Charleigh and Lyle Dail, Anna Riggan, sister René Page (Ronnie), brothers Wade Apple (Trish) and Larry Apple (Penny), sister-in-law Susie Todd, brother-in-law Dale Bridges along with nieces and nephews.

Clennon worked many years on his parents’ farm.  He then went to work at Western Electric and eventually retired from General Dynamics.  Fishing was one of Clennon’s favorite past times and he shared many fun trips with his great friend James King.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to two of Clennon’s main caregivers at Brookdale Memory Care, Mary Bryant and Kia Steele. Their love and kindness to Clennon and his family have brought a lot of comfort during his stay for the last two years.  Also, thank you to the amazing staff at Brookdale for their care and support and AuthoraCare for making his final days as comfortable as possible.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.  Per Clennon’s request, there will be no service.

Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.  John 14:27.
