Clyde Eugene Murray passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026, at Alamance Regional Medical Center, following several months of declining health. He was born on May 8, 1940, in Guilford County to the late Walter “Doc” Marion Murray and Ruby Alcon Murray.

Clyde retired as a mechanical contractor after many years with Tri-City Mechanical . Known for his strong work ethic, Clyde approached everything he did with commitment and care, always looking after his family and friends. His 53 years of faithful service at Northeast Volunteer Fire Department proved invaluable to many who served with him. One of his favorite past times was hunting and fishing with family and friends. On December 3, 2022 the State of North Carolina under the office of the State Fire Marshall conferred upon Clyde Murray, The Order of The Guardian.

Clyde is survived by his devoted wife, Carolyn Sue Hawkins Murray of the home; a son Cale E. Murray of Brown Summit; a sister, Judy Wyrick of Gibsonville; a brother Jerry Murray of Snow Camp; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Clyde was preceded in death by his brother Clay Murray and three sisters: Betty Justice, Louise Howerton and Dorothy Howerton

A visitation to honor his life will be held at Lowe Funeral Home from 1:00 till 3:00 PM on Saturday, February 7, 2026.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Northeast Fire Department, 7806 Jackson School Rd., Brown Summit, NC 27214 and/or Mobile Meals # 279, 1401 Benjamin Parkway, GSO 27408.
