Corrie Anne Florence, 31, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 10, 2025.
Born prematurely on April 14, 1994, to Lynn Kistler Florence Lawrence (who survives) and the late John J. Florence, Corrie weighed just 1 lb, 12 oz at birth. She spent the first several months of her life at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. Once discharged to home, she quickly became the apple of her grandparents’ eyes.
Corrie’s infectious smile and silly sense of humor brought joy to everyone she met. She laughed hard and loved deeply. Corrie cherished her “spa days,” always excited for manicures and pedicures using her favorite polish colors. Corrie had the opportunity to attend Victory Junction camp and loved getting dressed up to attend the Night to Shine prom! When she wasn’t at school, Corrie enjoyed listening to country music and trying to keep her mother in line.
She attended Western Alamance Middle and High Schools. Since completing high school, Corrie spent her days at Lindley Habilitation. She was deeply loved by her many family members, teachers and friends, all of whom will forever cherish her light, laughter, and love.
Corrie was preceded in death by her father, John J. Florence; grandparents Jim and Nancy Kistler; grandmother Naomi Florence; and stepfather Hank Lawrence.
In addition to her mother, Lynn, of the home, survivors include her grandfather Aubrey Florence, Sr.; brother JW Florence; stepbrother Tucker Lawrence; her “second mom,” Annette Williams; as well as several beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
