Coy Grinstead

Coy Bedford "Dick" Grinstead, 79, of 1144 Hanford Rd. went home to be with his Lord and Saviour Monday, November 9, 2009 at The V. A. Hospital in Durham following several months of failing health. He was the husband of Rose Marie Dunn Grinstead and was born October 17, 1930 in Person County to the late Charles Clifton and Tensey Dixon Grinstead. Dick served in the US Navy. He retired from Cone Mills after thirty years of service and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. He enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and spending time with his animals including his special pets; Rudy, Plymouth, Thomas and Jinxie. Survivors include his wife of the home, sons; Ronnie Grinstead and his wife Robyn of Haw River, Todd Grinstead of Franklinton, NC a granddaughter Katelynn Grinstead, sisters; Violet Gray of Durham, Mildred Mayes of Graham and Mary Jane Taylor of Hillsborough. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Hattie May Chambers, Alma Sharpe, Bobbie Overcash, brothers; Robert Grinstead, George Grinstead, Roy Grinstead, Ben Grinstead and Joe Grinstead. The funeral will be held 11:00 Am Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Ken Simpson. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home and at other times at the home.
