Cynthia "Cindy" Kirkman McNally

April 19, 1953 — January 9, 2026

Gibsonville

Cynthia Kirkman McNally Cynthia Kirkman McNally passed away peacefully on January 9 after a difficult battle with lung cancer. She finally and joyfully joins her husband of 35 years, John H. McNally.

She leaves behind her mother, Carolyn N. Riddle, and her brother, Keith Kirkman, and his wife, Ellen, and her dear friend, Kathryn Oakes. Her nephew, Brian Kirkman, and wife, Abby, along with her niece, Mary Elva Manaras, and husband, Jason, will also miss her dearly. Cindy referred to her grandniece, Riley Kirkman, born one month after her husband’s death, as her little angel and a reason to be happy again. Riley is now lucky to have her angel, Aunt Cindy, looking over her.

She is also survived by her beloved stepbrother, Glen Riddle, and wife, Kay, and their children, Greg and Lauren. Her stepsister, Jackie Riddle, always made her laugh. She loved hearing from her stepniece, Lynn Henderson, and husband, Jay, and children.

Cindy was born April 19, 1953, in Asheboro, NC to Carolyn and Hamp Kirkman. She was a 1971 graduate of Asheboro High School and received a dental assisting degree from the Technical Institute of Alamance. Upon retirement, she and her husband moved to Harker’s Island until 2023 when they returned to Burlington.

She enjoyed fishing and received a couple state citations! She loved her many nephews and nieces and spoiled them rotten.

A celebration of Cindy’s life will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Authoracare who provided Cindy and the family with amazing and wonderful care in her last hours.
