Mrs. Davia Lee Teague Truitt, age 79, of her "house on the hill" located on Durham St. Ext., left peacefully to be with the Lord on April 20th, 2010 at the Hospice Home. Born on April 14th, 1931 in High Point, NC, she was the daughter of the late David P. Teague and the late Minnie Allen Teague and was marred for over 54 years to Keith Fowler Truitt, who survives. Davia graduated with a teaching degree from Guilford College, and became an elementary school teacher in '53. After over 30 years of teaching she retired from South Mebane Elementary. After retirement, she enjoyed her family, friends, and volunteered notably for the Meals on Wheels organization. She was a member of Shallow Ford Christian Church. She lived a full life; one of serving the Lord, her family, friends, and the underserved. Her heart of complete humility and lack of selfishness emanated from her and drew people towards her. She will be genuinely missed. She is survived by her husband of the home; two daughters, Kim Wolfe and Kelly Ashley and her husband, Mac, all of Burlington; and four grandchildren, Kristina Wolfe, Anna, Frank, and Leah Ashley. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, April 23, 2010 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Minister Creighton Beatty. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 Thursday evening and other times at the home. Memorials can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
