Deborah Lynn Bridges

January 15, 1959 — April 25, 2025

Burlington

Mrs. Deborah “Debbie” Lynn Bridges, 66, of Burlington, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 25, 2025. Born on January 15, 1959, in Riverside, California, she was a beacon of light to those who knew her, leaving a legacy of kindness and generosity.

Debbie grew up a military brat in Guam and several other places that her father was stationed. Her diverse experiences contributed to her ease around people and ability to talk to anyone. Upon her family’s return to the States, Debbie attended Kecoughtan High School and graduated in 1977. She worked for many years for different car dealerships as a salesperson, where she was known for her honesty and work ethic. Debbie was a woman with a servant's heart, deeply devoted to serving others. Her spirit of thoughtfulness radiated through every action she took, even in her times of illness. Despite her own challenges, she would prepare treats for her neighbors and bake desserts for her doctors, ensuring that all around her felt cherished and valued. This remarkable ability to uplift spirits was a testament to her character, a blend of kindness and resilience that inspired everyone who crossed her path. Debbie found joy in flowers and all things vibrant and lovely. She also had a deep love for bulldogs, their loyal disposition mirroring her own affections for family and friends.

Debbie is survived by her devoted husband of 48 years, Tracy Bridges; her son, Christopher Bridges; daughter, Shelly Nicole Bridges; mother, Ethel May Broome Siebert; sister, Sandra Kay Hodges and husband Chris; nieces, Kelli and Jenifer; nephew, Terry; and her beloved dog, Coach Alan. She was preceded in death by her father, Morris Jackson Siebert.

A celebration of Debbie’s life will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of Debbie’s doctors and nurses at Duke University Hospital and Duke ICU. Your warmth, kindness, and care were felt deeply.
