Denise Moore Loye, 65, of Burlington, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 26, 2025 at her home and surrounded by her loved ones, after a ten-month battle with Bulbar on-set ALS.

Denise was born May 28, 1959 in Alamance County to Robert William Moore and Joy Payne Walker. She attended Cummings High School, later transferring to Southern Alamance High School where she graduated in 1977. Denise started her banking career in 1990 working at Wachovia Bank at Holly Hill Mall. After leaving Wachovia in 2004 she went to work for Community One Bank (formally known as Alamance National Bank) on South Church Street before landing at her final banking institution, Atlantic Union (formally known as American National) in Graham, retiring on September 30, 2024. In addition to banking, Denise worked part-time at Food Lion in Elon (Store #465) for 17 years before retiring from there in December 2020. Denise was loved by her co-workers as well as her customers through the years, no matter where she was working.

Denise is survived by her husband of 45 years, Jerry Loye; daughter, Ashley Loye Bason (Eddie Bordeaux); grandson, Dallas Robert Bason and granddaughter, Chandler Elise Bason; nieces and nephews, Timothy Brian Bailey, Matthew Bailey (Megan), Bobby Stewart, Jeremiah Stewart (Rebecca), Jonathan Stewart (Ronna), James Stewart (Chassity), Patricia Snyder Underwood (Wes), David Snyder (Jennifer), and Allison Davis Collins (John), as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; special cousin, Elizabeth Isley Murray who was like a sister, along with numerous other cousins; step-sisters, Brenda Scarborough, Carolyn Simpson, and Mary Frances Stevens; sisters-in-law, Jean Loye Stewart and Shirley Loye Snyder; step brother-in-law, Michael Davis (Vicky); and former son-in-law, Matthew S. Bason. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Ava Dawn Moore Bailey; step-mother, Hazelene Moore; step-father, Anderson “Andy” Walker; and nephew, Delbert “DJ” Stewart, Jr. 

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 30, 2025 from 6 – 8 PM at Lowe Funeral Home and other times at the home of Ashley. A celebration of Denise’s life will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 3 PM at Bellemont Methodist Church with Dr. Richard D. Booker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
