Donald MacRae Chaplin

Donald MacRae Chaplin of South Boston, VA passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 16, 2026.

Donald was born on September 22, 1960 in Madrid, Spain to the late Warren Stanley Chaplin and Virginia Chaplin Barker.

He attended George Washington High School in Danville, VA. While growing up Donald enjoyed playing his electric guitar, going on hikes with his sister and friends, listening to Rock music and spending time with family and friends.

Donald was a hard worker at every place he worked and enjoyed working with his co-worker at Eaton Corporation in Roxboro, NC. He had planned to retire in September, but passed before that could happen.

Donald first married his High school sweetheart with whom he had two children, Nicolette Brower and Michael Andrew Chaplin. He helped to raise his niece, Hannah Setliff when her father passed away. He late married Lynn Horton Chaplin with who he was married five years before she passed away.

Donald is survived by his brother, Richard Stanley Chaplin and wife, Teresa and Dianna Stone and husband, Volney, his son, Michael and his daughter, Nicolette Brower, his two grandchildren, Zander Dixon and Zaylee Dixon and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to Sentara Hospice, 2200 Wilborn Avenue, South Boston, VA 24592 in memory of Donald its much appreciated.
