Donald Irby, Sr.

RICKY IRBY Donald Ricky Irby, age 56, of 2263 Gibsonville-Ossipee Road, passed away, Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at his home. A native of Caswell County, he was the son of the late Cabell Richard and Ruth Estelle Briggs Irby. Ricky had been employed as maintenance manager in the healthcare industry and was a member of Lea Bethel Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Vickie Lee Irby of the home; daughter, Shanta Irby Barnes and husband Doug of Mebane; son, Donald Ricky Irby, Jr. and wife Kristi of Elon; step daughter, Kaitlyn McKenzie Loy; step son, Tyler Braxton Self both of the home; sisters, Janie I. Nelson and husband Hugh and Jeanette I. Beaudet and husband Fred all of Burlington; Frances I. Taylor and husband Buck of Rougemont, Mary I. Bush and friend Billy of Graham, Peggy I. Talley, Vickie I. Irby and Wanda I. Riley all of Cedar Grove; brothers, Jimmy Irby and friend Debbie of Mebane, Jackie Irby and wife Sarah of Hillsborough, and Barry Irby of Prospect Hill; 3 grandchildren, Madison, August and Braeden. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Friday, January 11, 2013 in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Ronnie Reynolds. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. Mr. Irby will remain at Lowe Funeral Home through the funeral service. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory from 6-8pm Thursday and at the home at other times.
