Donna Terry Strouth, 88, a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Moses H. Cone Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on May 13, 1938, in Guilford County, NC to the late Jasper Monroe "Jack" Terry and Mary Chamblin Terry, and was the wife to the late Edwin "Ed" Dennis Strouth, Sr. Donna lived a life marked by warmth, kindness, and joy for the simple pleasures that filled her days.
Donna was a vibrant soul, known for her outgoing nature and radiant smile that could light up any room. She often found happiness in the little things—her laughter was infectious, a melody that those who knew her will carry in their hearts forever. Her love for crafts showed beautifully in her passion for cross stitching and collecting angels, hobbies that reflected her creative spirit and gentle attention to detail. Donna’s faith was a cornerstone of her life; as a devoted member of Jubilee Holiness Church, she treasured her church family and found support and joy within their fellowship.
A proud retiree from the textiles industry, Donna valued hard work, but her greatest source of pride and accomplishment was her family. She enjoyed spending time with her loving family mostly her grandchildren that she adored. Donna was a devoted mother to her daughters, Betty Miller and Brenda Locklear and her son, Benjamin “Benny” Jeffries. Her heart also held a special place for her stepchildren, Cathie Stedron and her husband Chuck, Edwin Dennis Strouth, Jr. and his wife Karen, and Carl “C.H.” Henry Strouth. Donna's legacy continues to bloom through her nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, as well as four step-grandchildren and one step great-grandchild; her brothers, Wesley Terry and Leon Terry and his wife Lynn; and numerous nieces and nephews who will all remember her love and nurturing spirit.
Donna has now been reunited with her loving parents; her beloved husband of thirty-three years, Edwin “Ed” Strouth, Sr. who passed away in 2018; a grandson, Billy “B.J.” Miller; her sister, Coleen Veron; brothers, Robert, Harold Dean, and Howard B. Terry, and her son-in-law, William Locklear who all have preceded her in death.
The visitation for her family and friends to honor and remember Donna will be held on Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00PM at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory. The graveside service to celebrate Donna’s life will be held at 3:00PM Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at Guilford Memorial Park and other times the family will be at the residence.
Donna’s smile, her laugh, and her generous heart left a permanent mark on all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the many lives she touched with her love and kindness.
