Doris Joyce

Mrs. Doris Corn Joyce, age 81, of 3844 Heritage Dr. Twin Lakes died at 12:05 a.m. Tuesday December 6, 2005 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. A native of Patrick County, Va., she was preceded in death by her husband William Lloyd Joyce; parents, Elijah Corn and Elva Lawrence Corn; and brothers, Leonard Corn and E.L. Corn. She was a retired employee of Burlington Industries Pioneer Plant after 37 years of dedicated service and a longtime member of Peoples Memorial Christian Church. She was especially proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and enjoyed sharing pictures and stories of them with her many friends at Twin Lakes. She also enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Joe and Linda Faucette and Jimmy and Joan Shoe, of Mebane; two sons and daughters-in-law, Leon and Becky Joyce and Barry and Theresa Joyce of Burlington; one sister, Jane C. Ferris of Danville, Va; seven grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday, December 8, 2005 at Peoples Memorial Christian Church by Rev. John Shields, pastor. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. Mrs. Joyce will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until being placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Thursday where the family will receive friends until 11:45 a.m. At other times the family will be at the home of Barry Joyce, 311 Benjamin Court, Burlington..
