Doris Williams Laase, age 80, formerly of Altamahaw passed away on Monday, July 4, 2011 at El Paso Ltac Hospital in El Paso, Texas where she lived for many years. She was a native of Alamance County and the daughter of the late Porter Isaiah Williams and Ida Bell Lynn Williams. Doris retired from Weaver Scopes and was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Martinez of El Paso, Texas, Cherrie Randy Mason of Michigan; sons, Donnie Wrenn of Kissimmee, Florida and Larry Kate Wrenn of Louisiana; fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren; three step children; sisters, Nellie Wayne Barbee of Burlington and Ruthie Rudd of Elon; brothers, Doug Johnsie Williams and Darrell Williams of Elon; sister-in-laws, Ann Williams of Haw River and Jane Williams of Greensboro. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Laase; parents, infant daughter, Barbara Jean Wrenn; grandson, Joey Wrenn; sister, Gladys Busick and brothers, J. P. Williams and Melvin "Bud" Williams. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Randy Hobbs and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. pror to the service at the funeral home.
