Dorothy Ellen Wagoner Hargrove, a cherished soul born on November 1, 1938, in Alamance County, departed this world on October 9, 2025. A retired employee of BellSouth, Dorothy leaves behind a legacy that intertwines her profound love for family, devotion to her church, and an abiding appreciation for the beauty of nature.

Known for her vibrant spirit, Dorothy found joy in the little things, such as the weekly ritual of visiting the salon, where she relished the pampering and companionship. Her compassion and unwavering dedication to the welfare of others resonated deeply within the walls of Kinnett Memorial Baptist Church, where she cherished her church family. A devoted member, she cultivated friendships and shared faith, reminding all of the comfort and strength found in community.

Dorothy took great delight in nurturing and observing the birds that graced her garden. Her profound appreciation for the simple joys of life drew many to her, as her warmth and kindness created a space for loved ones to connect with the natural world around them.

Surviving Dorothy are her beloved family members, including her niece, Kathy Hatchel; nephews, David Dodson and Jimmy Smith; great niece, Staci Cate (Jonathan); and great nephew, Will Hatchel. Their lives are a testament to the love and values Dorothy imparted, as they carry forward her spirit and legacy.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her father, Willie Bryant Wagoner; her mother, Ollie Rhodes Wagoner; and her sisters, Billie, Aileen, Marie, Peggy, and Ruby. These familial ties formed the foundation of her being, shaping the loving woman so many came to respect and adore. No formal services will be held at this time.
