Mrs. Dorothy Sutton Lamm, 86, of 8283 Kerr Chapel Rd., died on Sunday, August 21, 2005 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Arba Sutton and the late Ida Skenes Sutton and was married to the late Junior Edward Lamm who died in 1968. She was retired from Glen Raven Mills, was a member of Central Baptist Church of Gibsonville, and was a member of the Azalea Circle Club. She graduated with honors from the New Creations Ministries Bible Course in 1994. Mrs. Lamm is survived by three daughters, Helen Funderburk and her husband, Roger, of Gibsonville, Janice Denny and her husband, Charles, of Elon, and Margie Stallings of Burlington; a son, Wayne Hall of Brazil; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a sister, Ada Knight of Burlington; and a brother, Jake C. Sutton of Gibsonville. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three sisters, Elsie Councilman, Irene Hall, and Carnell Johnson; and a brother, Robert D. Sutton. The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at First Baptist Church of Gibsonville by the Rev. Brian Ayers. Interment will follow at Gibsonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM this evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home of her daughter, Helen Funderburk, 1307 Lashey Park Dr., Gibsonville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Gibsonville, 221 Piedmont Ave., Gibsonville, NC 27249. Condolences may be sent to the family at lowefh@bellsouth.net.
