Eamon Hipps

February 25, 2008 — December 27, 2025

Eamon William Hipps earned his wings on Saturday night, December 27, 2025, in Gibsonville. He lived a short life, dying at the young age of 17.

Eamon was a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church and attended regularly with his family. Eamon was also a student at Western Alamance High School, where he was a member of the soccer and swim team. Eamon would also participate in both these sports outside of school. During his four years in high school, Eamon won two state championship titles in soccer, achieved Mid-Atlantic All-Region recognition, MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, a 53-game win streak with many shutouts, and has gone to state championships for swimming. Shortly before his passing, his relay team for club swimming would achieve a qualifying time for the YMCA Nationals. He avidly loved both sports and was ever humble about any achievements he earned, although he did appreciate it whenever people would praise him.

Through sports and school, Eamon would touch many lives, of both his teammates and fellow students. While he may be gone, the various aspects of his personality can be found in all those he touched. Whether it be with blonde hair, dyed for the high school soccer championship, of which he participated in, or the vibrant smiles that can be found on all those who knew him whenever they think about him. Eamon could always be found with that same smile, regardless of the situation. Sometimes, you can even hear his voice in some of them. It is hard to find any negative memories of him.

Along with those who knew him, Eamon is survived by his parents, Kristin and Timothy Hipps II and his older brother, Tigue Hipps. Outside of his immediate family, Eamon is also survived by his grandparents, Deborah and George Attarian and Trudy and Timothy Hipps, alongside other extended family. While Eamon has left many behind, he is preceded in heaven by five cousins, who he is now joining.

Eamon’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M on Friday, January 2nd at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Gibsonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday, January 1st at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the residence.

The family has requested that all athletes wear their game jerseys or team apparel to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Eamon’s name may be made to Western Alamance Athletic Boosters, Alamance Dream Center, and the Alamance YMCA for their competitive swim team.
