Eddie Clifton Shoe, Jr., 75, of Mebane passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was born in Alamance County to the late Eddie Clifton and Mildred Davis Dodson Shue and was married for 52 years to Billie Ray Shoe who survives.
Eddie was a Marine Corps Veteran who served in Vietnam. He was awarded a Purple Heart as well as several campaign ribbons. He was the owner and operator of Shoe’s Painting for more than 20 years. Eddie loved his “girls” most of all and his life was devoted to trying to ensure they were taken care of before anything else. His other “hobbies” were fishing, bee keeping, raising chickens, gardening, and calling in on “Talk Line”. He could fix anything and everything and loved to repurpose things so nothing went to waste.
Eddie is survived by his beloved wife, Billie Ray Shoe; daughter, Candi Cook (David); grandchildren, Holly, Bailey, and Christina (Ricky); great grandchildren, Brycen, Harper, Willow and Eleanor; sister, “Ducky” Shahravar (Khosrow); brother, Buddy Shue (Rosemary); cousin, Floyd Couch; life-long friend, John Daniels and a ton of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his infant son, Jacob Shoe; parents; and a brother, Tony Shue.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at Calvary Baptist Church by Pastor Boyd Pickard with burial to follow in Graham Memorial Park. Military honors will be provided by the US Marine Corps at the graveside. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:45 PM prior to the service at the church and at other times at the home.
