BURLINGTON- Edward Joseph Duszlak, Sr., 83, of 418 Meadowood Dr., and formerly of Mirror Lake Dr., died Monday, November 14, 2005 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after an acute illness. Mr. Duszlak is survived by his wife of the home, Mrs. Margaret Pavuk Duszlak; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Sankar and her husband, Dr. S.G. Sankar, of Burlington; daughter-in-law, Dr. Carla Duszlak of Burlington; six grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Stella Jamrogowicz and Mrs. Nellie Piotroski, both of Connecticut; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanislau and Anna Twardzik Duszlak, and a son, Dr. Edward J. Duszlak, Jr. A native of North Grosvenordale, CT, he lived in Webster, MA for many years until he moved to Burlington in 1983. He was an Army Veteran of WWII, serving in Normandy, France. He earned the Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal, American Theater Campaign Ribbon, and European African Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon. Mr. Duszlak was a tool and die maker for Lundquist Tool and Die Manufacturing in Worcester, MA for 20 years, retiring in 1983. He played semi-pro baseball with teams in CT and MA in the 1940s. He was active in the Senior Olympics and won a bronze medal in table tennis for the State of North Carolina. He attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The family will be having a private graveside service on Wednesday, November 16, 2005. There will be a Memorial Mass at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family at info@lowefuneralhome.com
