Elbert Ronald “Mr. B” Burgess, 83, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at his home. He was born in Greenville, SC to the late John and Jewell Burgess and was married to the late Jackie Ledford Burgess.
He was the co-owner and operator of Huffman Paint Company for several years. Ronald enjoyed painting, and doing his own home repairs and improvements. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved repairing and restoring old cars, especially his Pontiac Grand Am and Monte Carlo Super Sport. Ronald also loved watching old classic movies and shows, particularly old westerns. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who truly enjoyed spending time with his family.
Ronald is survived by his son, Ronnie Burgess, Jr. (Connie), a daughter-in-law, Rita Burgess; his grandchildren, Kristin, Ashley, Samantha, Cole and Alisha Burgess; a great granddaughter, Emma Lee; and a brother, Wayne Robinson (Pat). He was preceded in death by his wife, his son, Rodney Eugene Burgess, his parents, and siblings, Essie Price, Gary and Pedro Burgess.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Tommy Fargis with interment to follow at Graham Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30PM - 1:45PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
