Eleanor Blaylock Swinney

     Eleanor was a graduate of Prospect Hill High School. She worked at Western Electric in Burlington, NC until it closed and then she worked for AT & T in Winston Salem until retirement in 1989. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Graham, NC. She loved all her family, friends and church family.

     Eleanor is survived by her husband, Fred Swinney of the home; brothers, Roy Howard Blaylock and wife, Barbara Johnson Blaylock and Donald Ray Blaylock; sisters, Dorothy “Dot” Lunsford and Iris Faye and husband, Tommy Underwood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Lea Davis and wife, Muriel Stevens Blaylock, Johnnie Edward and wife, Delcie Hart Blaylock and Gurney Marres Blaylock; sisters-in-laws, Faye Murphy Blaylock and Shirley Shelton Blaylock; nephew, Edward “Eddie” Blaylock, Jr. and one great niece, Hannah Joy Peters.

     A service to celebrate her life will be held at 12:30pm on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Bethel Baptist Church in Graham by Pastor David Jackson.  The burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:00-12:30pm prior to the service at the church and other times at the home.
