Erma Wolfe Jones

Mrs. Erma Wolfe Jones, 87, of Burlington, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 7, 2023.

Erma was born July 8, 1935 in Person County to William and Martha Wolfe.  She worked as a seamstress for many years for Annedean Hosiery and Gold Toe.  A devoted member of New Hope Baptist Church, she loved her church family and teaching Sunday School.  In her free time, Erma enjoyed cooking and loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Theodore “Ted” Rudolph Jones, who died in 1998, and Boyd Augburn Routh, who died in 2015, as well as brothers, Lonnie Wolfe and Roger Wolfe, and sister, Carlene Wolfe Shelton.

Erma is survived by her children, Dennis Mark Jones and wife Lora, Sylvia Jones Oakes Barber and husband Bud, and Stephen “Steve” Wayne Jones, Sr.; 9 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Betty Roberts, Regina Bak, Jeanette Lunsford, and Rebecca Rimmer; brothers, Darnell Wolfe and Jerry Wolfe; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The public is invited to stop by and pay their respects on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Lowe Funeral Home from 9 AM – 5 PM.  All other services are private.
