Ethel Martin

Ethel Juanita Smith Martin, 95, formerly of Hyde St. passed away Saturday March 22, 2008 at Alamance Health Care. She was the wife of the late Walter "Walt" Warren Martin and born August 2, 1912 to the late Grover Cleveland and Lucy Pettigrew Smith in Danville, VA. Ethel was a member of Northside Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her daughters Becky Richardson and her husband Leo of Greensboro, Patricia Dodson of Haw River, a son Doug Martin and his wife Kay of Salisbury, grandchildren; Warren Martin, Anitra Lambeth, Jeremiah Dodson, John Dodson, great grandchildren; Abbey Martin, Kinsey Martin, Hogan Lambeth, Taylor Martin, Noelle Lambeth, Kanyon Lambeth, sisters; Mrs. Lucille Turner of Burlington, Mrs. Frances Braxton of Dover, DE, a brother Tom Smith of Burlington, a special niece Jean Blaylock and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a brother L.L. "Buddy" Smith. The graveside service will be held 3:30 PM Tuesday March 25th at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 2:00 - 3:15 PM Tuesday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. and at other times at the home of Patricia Dodson, 3566 Mt. Willen Rd., Haw River. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliatve Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
