Burlington, NC Etta Mae Williams King, age 92, formerly of 1623 Melody Lane went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 5, 2007 at Liberty Commons. She was a native of Wythe County, Virginia and the wife of the late Arnold R. King. Etta Mae was a homemaker and member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Wythe County, Virginia. She enjoyed cooking and especially preparing Sunday lunches for her family. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Roger H. King and his wife, Betty of Burlington, Larry A. King and his wife, Linda of Pleasant Garden; granddaughter, Sherrie K. Linton of Burlington; grandson, Chris Sugg of Tampa, Florida; great granddaughters, Morgan and Marybeth Linton both of Burlington; sister, Ruby W. Williams of Christiansburg, Virginia; sister-in-law, Laura Williams of Burlington; brother-in-law and spouse, Everett King and his wife, Nancy of Martinsville, Virginia; five wonderful nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, John W. and Lula C. Leedy Williams; brothers, James S. and Howard B. Williams; niece, Billie Felshaw. A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, October 8, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Stephen Rust and the burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home and other times the family will be at the home of Roger King; 1513 Keogh Street, Burlington, NC 27215. The family of Etta Mae would like to express their appreciation to the staff and nurses at Liberty Commons for their kind and compassionate care over the past four years.
