Burlington, NC Eva Stanfield Myers, age 87, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after two years of failing health. Eva was born on May 27, 1925 on a farm in the Anderson-Baynes community of Caswell County. She was the daughter of the late Ira M. Stanfield and Fannie Page Stanfield. Eva was married to the late Edgar L. Myers for 66 years. Eva enjoyed telling stories of growing up on the farm to her sons, grandsons and granddaughter, and to her great granddaughters. She was a typical housewife of her time and was involved with her church, PTA, cub scouts, garden, bridge clubs and duck-pin bowling. Eva was much loved by all who knew her and will be missed by all. Survivors include three sons, William L. Myers Sandra, Timothy K. Myers, Mark E. Myers Ellen, all of Burlington; sisters, Inez Robertson of Reidsville and Alma Cardella Bill of Burlington. She had four grandsons, Rodney Jackie, Richard Wendy, Darren Susan, and Ross. She was blessed with a granddaughter, Jaclyn Myers, and five great granddaughters, Emma, Lindsay, Amelia, Kate and Ainsley. She also enjoyed visits from numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Eva was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 66 years, son, Donald Ray Myers survived by Geraldean Mix still considered a daughter-in-law, brother, Herbert E. Stanfield and a sister, Josephine Butler. The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 19, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Richard Myers and Rev. Gerald Collins with the interment to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 AM prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.
