Evelyn Phillips

Rock Hill, SC-Evelyn Conklin Phillips, 93 went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 15, 2020. She was the wife of 64 years to the late Gene Tunney Phillips and the daughter of the late Willian H. and Faye Brown Conklin.

Evelyn enjoyed life although it has been difficult over the past several years due to health complications. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rock Hill attending services there with her son and daughter-in-law. Evelyn was affectionately called “Aunt Peanut” by her nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her son, Michael Phillips and wife, Carol of Rock Hill, SC;  grandchildren, Robert M. (Misty) Phillips and Erica (Chris) Taylor; five great grandchildren; sister, Ruth Cole and Husband, Marvin of Burlington; nieces, Lisa (Keith) Jones, Kellie (Randall) Smith; nephews, Mitchell (Kim) Conlkin, Tony (Dorene) Cole; grand nieces, Mattie Simpson and Heather (Todd) Talley and their son, Jase. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a brother, W. H. “Bud” Conklin, Jr.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 2:00pm at Pine Hill Cemetery.
