Ezra Levi “Rev. Earl” Epperson, 95, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Mercer, West Virginia on June 23, 1926 to the late Robert “Bob” Epperson and Maggie Taylor Epperson and was married for over 65 years to Alma Hester Epperson who died in 2012.

Rev. Earl was in the ministry from 1955 until his retirement in 1986.  During his years serving as a minister, he preached at numerous churches including; Beulah Baptist Church, Shiloh Baptist Church both in Caswell County, Edgewood Baptist Church in Mebane, Lankford Memorial Baptist Church in Greensboro and several churches in Virginia and West Virginia.  Rev. Earl was a charter member of Lankford Memorial Baptist Church; a US Army veteran and he enjoyed fishing, singing and spending time with his family but mostly loved spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids.

Survivors include his daughter, Linda Epperson Wood and husband Wallace “Wally”; sons, Earl Wayne Epperson and wife Sandra, Dwight Levi Epperson and wife Barbara; grandchildren that he loved, Joey Epperson and wife Candy, Jonathan Epperson and wife Jennifer, Danny Epperson and wife Laurie, Mark Epperson and wife Mandy, Kim Wood and fiancé John Mooney and Ken Wood; great grandchildren; Haleigh Epperson, Jill Epperson, Mitchell Epperson and wife Emily, Megan Gammon and husband Mason, Jacob Epperson, Mason Epperson, Daniel Epperson and Justin Epperson; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; a grandson, Kevin Ray Wood; two sisters and three brothers.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 12:00pm Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Lankford Memorial Baptist Church by Rev. Josh Apple and Rev. Steve Walsh.  The family will receive friends from 11:00am to 11:45am Saturday prior to the service at the church.  The Epperson family has requested for everyone to wear a mask and use covid precautions.  The graveside service will be held at 3:00pm Saturday at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery in Yanceyville.  The family at other times will be at the residence.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Lankford Memorial Baptist Church, 3708 Yanceyville Street, Greensboro, NC 27405.
