Faye Riley Shelton

Faye Riley Shelton, 75, of Graham passed away Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Alamance Regional Medical Center. 

Faye was born in Hillsborough, NC on September 25, 1947, the daughter of William Edgar “Ed” Riley and Minnie Lee Crabtree Riley.  She had an accomplished professional career working for NC Memorial Hospital, NC Biotechnology Center, and Edward Jones. 

Faye was an adoring wife to her husband Richard and a loving mother to her son Steven.  She was married to Richard for thirty-three years prior to his passing.  She provided a home and life full of love for her family.  She enjoyed traveling with her family on their numerous “adventures” as they liked to call them. 

Faye was a compassionate, warmhearted Christian who cared more for others than she did herself.  She had a gift to see the good in others, but more importantly, to get those to see that good as well.  Faye was a loyal friend who never met a stranger and was always receptive to listening.  She had a witty sense of humor and was always ready to laugh and made everyone around her happy.   Those who knew Faye knew of her love for all things that sparkled and her four-legged companion Prince. 

Faye has gone to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and reunited with family, friends and her Richard, the love of her life.  One thing that is certain is Faye is sparkling in heaven and watching over all her family and friends left behind.  

Faye is predeceased by her parents, Edgar and Minnie of Hillsborough, NC; husband Richard Thomas Shelton of Durham, NC; sisters Patsy Andrews and Wendy Riley; brother David Riley; sister in-law Fran Baker; brother in-law Kevin Shelton.

Surviving is her son, Richard Steven Shelton and daughter in-law Kristin Shelton of Greensboro, NC; sister, Phyllis Privette of Hillsborough, NC; brother in-laws Rodney Andrews, Sr., and Howard Privette; sister in-laws Susan Riley and Sandra Shelton; nephews Rodney Andrews, Jr., Matthew Riley, David Blankenbeckler, Jonathan Shelton, and Matthew Baker; nieces Kellie Andrews, Tisha Bullock, Tina Polanco, Beth Riley, and Nicole Blankenbeckler.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Lowe Funeral Home, Burlington, NC at 4:00 PM on Saturday, January 21, 2023, with Pastor Darrell Massey officiating.
