Frances Mitchell

Burlington, NC Frances Naomi Hudgins Mitchell, age 93, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at the Hospice Home. She was a native of Pittsylvania County and the wife of the late Talmadge "T.W." Mitchell. Naomi was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church of Elon. She was a member of the Epsie Somers Sunday School class and a former member of the church choir. She was an avid flower gardener and a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Survivors include her daughter, Faye M. Naylor of Burlington and a son, Terry W. Mitchell of Burlington; grandchildren, Larissa Thomas Davis of Gibsonville, Sharon Jeff Brenner of Burlington, Cassi Marcus Smith of Charlotte and Jennifer Eric McCorkle of Belmont, NC; great grandchildren, David Brenner, Brad Brenner, Brandi Brenner, Breanna Davis, Makenzi Davis, Graham Smith, Gracie Smith and Trey McCorkle; sister, Peggy Davis of Danville, VA and a sister-in-law, Jean Hudgins of Liberty, SC. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, Frank E. Hudgins, Sr. and Daisy Shelton Hudgins; great grandson, Dustin Brenner and a brother, Frank Hudgins, Jr. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Elon by Rev. Mark Mofield and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. on Saturday at the church prior to the service and other times at the home of her daughter at 853 Yamota Road, Burlington, NC 27217.
