Frances Geraldine "Gerry" Stanford

     Frances Geraldine “Gerry” Stanford, 74, of Graham, died July 5, 2023, following a
 sudden illness. A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of Richard
 Stanford, Jr. and Hattie Mae Holliday Stanford, both deceased.
     Gerry is survived by her brother Frank Stanford of Burlington; sister Ellen Stanford
 of Graham; aunt Nancy Bare; and cousins Lynn Bare, Debra Bare, Caroline Davis,
 Russ Thompson and Ann Holliday Mann.
     After graduating from Southern Alamance High School in 1967, Gerry earned an
 Associate Degree in Business Data Processing from Alamance Community College.
She also earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Administrative Science from Guilford
College while working full time. Gerry spent most of her career as a computer
systems analyst for Guilford County and later Lorillard.
     Gerry was an avid fan of professional tennis and Duke basketball. She lived in
Browns Summit, N.C., for many years and stayed in close touch with her former
neighbors as well as former co-workers. She loved spending time with family and a
group of her high school friends.
     A celebration of Gerry’s life will be held Saturday, July 15, at 2:00 pm in the Lowe
Funeral Home Chapel in Burlington. The family will receive visitors immediately
following the service.
