Frances Westbrooks Talley, a cherished friend, loving wife, devoted mother, and adoring grandmother, passed away on June 5, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born on July 29, 1946, in Alamance County, she lived a life filled with love, and unwavering spirit.
Frances was well-known in the community for her role as the owner of Baynes Store in Caswell County, NC. Her hard work and passion for serving others left a lasting impression on all who entered her store. Later in life, she became an in-home caregiver, touching the lives of many with her nurturing spirit and compassionate heart.
At her core, Frances was a vivacious woman who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved to go dancing, infusing her time with laughter and rhythm. Those who knew her fondly remember her enthusiasm for playing card games, a pastime that brought her together with friends and family alike. Shopping, exploring flea markets, and antiquing were also among her cherished interests, each outing a new adventure that energized her soul.
Family was everything to Frances, and her granddaughters, Mattie and Kaylee Howard, were her heart. Their bond resonated deeply, bridging generations and filling her life with pride and joy. She leaves behind her loving husband, Jimmy Talley, who shared countless memories and dreams; her son, Stephen Howard Jr., and his wife, Amy. Frances is also survived by her brother, Kenneth Westbrooks (Sherrie), sister-in-law, Diane Westbrooks, and sister, Janet Wrenn, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will carry forward her legacy of love and kindness.
Frances joins her father, Frank William Westbrooks; her mother, Marion Sykes Westbrooks; and her brother, Wayne Westbrooks, in eternal rest.
A procession will meet at 10:30am on June 10, 2025, at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory in Burlington, NC, going to a graveside service at Alamance Memorial Park at 11:00 AM. Frances Westbrooks Talley will be remembered not only for her countless contributions to her family and community but also for the light and love she brought to every moment. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
