Francis Bocian

Mr. Francis Leon “Butch” Bocian, age 94, of Elon, passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022 at his residence after a brief illness.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late Sylvester Joseph Bocian and the late Rose Woods Bocian.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was retired from Bechtel Corporation.  He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

Frank is survived by two nieces, Lynne Wentz and husband, George and Gloria Diana and husband, Tony and two nephews, Richard Cenci and wife, Mary and Bob Lenard and wife, Susan.  He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Alberta Lenard, Marie Barbara Cenci and infant sister Rita Bocian; and a brother, Anthony Bocian.

A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, February 14, 2022 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 10:45 AM prior to the service at the church.  He will be buried at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church Cemetery in Pittsburgh, PA at a later date.
