Gail Teague Moore

February 26, 1949 — May 13, 2025

Burlington

Gail Teague Moore, 76, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 13, 2025, while at home following a brief illness. She was born February 26th, 1949, in Asheboro, NC and was a resident of Alamance County her entire life. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend.

Gail was a lover of the Bible, books in general, flowers, animals, and a beloved boxer-bird dog mix she affectionally referred to as “Doodles” whom she watched over as if a treasure of inestimable worth. She was a devoted member of Spring Lake Baptist Church, with those whom she attended church truly being part of her family.

If pressed to aptly sum up Gail in a short phrase, the one that comes to mind is Christ follower. Gail’s faith tempered and permeated every aspect of her life. She was firm and resolved on matters of principle yet loved and showed kindness to the most unlovely among us, due to the understanding all are made in the image of God and have inherent worth. Those closest to her often recognized how the “least of these” seemed to seek her out for a kind word or listening ear, which she readily offered. In short, her life was emblematic of one that had been deeply touched by grace.

Gail was always content in all circumstances, quick to offer praise, and genuinely celebrated the successes of others. She was a voracious champion of underdogs the world over. She always saw and celebrated the good others did yet never seemed to be able to do so pertaining to herself. In true fashion, shortly before her death she remarked that she wished she had done more with her life, failing to realize that throughout the duration of her illness, she had been surrounded by friends and family alike whom had been deeply affected for good, both temporally and eternally, through her willingness to demonstrate the love of Christ to others. She will be missed by all who knew her, but especially by those that knew her well. Those that loved her can rejoice for to be absent from the body is to be present Lord for those that are in Christ, even though her love, fellowship, and camaraderie will be deeply missed.

Gail is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ronnie Moore; children Nick Moore and Chris Moore; brother-in-law Jerry (Shirley) Moore; beloved sisters-in-law Garrinette Teague and Betty Teague; numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom were cherished by her. Gail was preceded in death by her father Lewis Henry Teague, mother Mollie Ruth Teague; brothers Simon and Bill Teague; brother-in-law Jeff Reynolds; sister-in-law Joan Reynolds.

A funeral service to celebrate Gail’s life will be held at 2:00 on Monday, May 19, 2025, in the chapel at Lowe Funeral Home with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The Family will receive friends from 3-5 on Sunday the 18th at Lowe Funeral Home as well.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Wisdom International (Wisdom International) or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (St. Jude Children's Research Hospita)l.

2 Corinthians 4-17-18 (ESV)

For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
