Gene "Trey" Fitch Oliver III

Gene “Trey” Fitch Oliver, III, passed away at his home on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.

Trey was born and raised in Alamance County and lived a simple life.  He loved his family and his friends.  Trey loved to fish, go mudding and fix things; he loved to work with his hands and could build about anything.  For a long time, he has struggled with addiction, and it inevitably took his life.  He will be missed by so many people.  He was a son, a brother, a father, and a friend.  Trey leaves this world with many people hurting and wondering about a life that was cut short.  Even though his chapter here on Earth is closed, he will live forever through his sons and the memories of all those who loved him.  We are hoping that his death does not go unnoticed and we ask that those that are suffering from addiction reach out and get help and support.  Trey would want you to fight these addictions and know that you are not alone, and you are enough.  Family and friends that love you are hoping you take this tragic time and use it as a wake-up call to change your story.  We serve a mighty God, and He loves and accepts us all.  All of us, with our flaws.  Be the statistic that overcomes this horrible disease and not another tragic gone way too soon.  

Trey is survived by his sons, Landon and Colton Oliver; mom and stepdad, Sabrina and Greg Hardin; biological father, Gene F. Oliver, Jr.; sister, Zoie E. Norris; grandparents, Gene Fitch Oliver, Sr. and Pat Oliver; aunt and uncle, Donna and Wayne Norris; and uncle, Marvin Norris, Jr.  He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Clifton Eugene Norris, and grandparents, Marvin “Jerry” Norris, Sr. and Rosa Norris.

A memorial service will be held at 4 PM on Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends following the service.
