Geraldine "Geri" Anne Kollar Cheek
Greensboro- Geraldine Anne Kollar Cheek “Geri”, 81, passed away at home on Sunday, March 6, 2022 surrounded by those who love her the most in the world, loving husband of 61 years, Rusty Cheek, and daughters Tracie Barefoot and Jamie Thomas. Left to carry cherished memories in their hearts, in addition to husband and daughters, are brother, Ernest Kollar, Jr. (and wife Suzanne), granddaughter, Karly Headen (and husband Josh), and great granddaughter, Eden Headen. She is preceded in death by her parents, Florence and Ernest Kollar, infant son, RJ Cheek, and grandson Casey Thomas.
Geri was a devoted wife, and fierce and loving protector of her daughters. A sweet, gracious, genuine, gentle, and fun loving soul, Geri was the embodiment of joie de vivre. Everyone who encountered her left feeling special and probably got a big hug. She seemed to never stop smiling and for her, each and every time she spent with family and friends, was always the very best it could be.
The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to Authoracare Hospice of Greensboro and staff for their kindness, and exceptional care during Geri’s last few months. The family requests that those who wish to express sympathy consider donating to Alzheimer’s Association, and/or Authoracare of Greensboro.
