Gladys Ritchie

Burlington, NC Gladys Jernigan Ritchie, age 85, formerly of Alamance Road passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2009 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Bruton, Alabama and the wife of the late William Garland Ritchie. Gladys along with her husband was the co-owner and operator of Ritchies Drive-In for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Burlington and a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Survivors include her son, James Wesley "Rusty" Ritchie of Alamance; step daughter, Patricia "Pat" Leckie of High Point; grandchildren, Libba Jeff Montsinger of Oak Island, NC, William David Nikki Ritchie of Mebane; great grandchildren, October Michelle Ritchie and Mackenzie Morgan Ritchie both of Burlington, Beth McDade of Lake Norman. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, James and Ora Odum Jernigan. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Alamance Memorial Park by Dr. Terry Pritchard. The family will be at the home of her son, 3106 Alamance Road, Burlington, NC.
