Gordon Bennett, Sr.

Gordon Cecil Bennett, Sr., age 50, formerly of 212 Adams St. died on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness. A native of Alamance County, he was the son of the late Edward Golden Bennett, Sr. and Mrs. Nola Waller Bennett Guinn, who survives in Burgaw. Gordon served as a mechanic at several places in Alamance County and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Bennett is survived by two daughters, Charlotte Marie Loy and her spouse and Devan Crystal Bennett, all of Burlington; a son Gordon Cecil Bennett, Jr. and his wife, Leslie Nicole, of Burlington; five grandchildren; three sisters, Ann Haithcock and her husband, Johnny, of Burlington, Deborah Grubb and her husband, Larry, of Graham and Bonnie Rose and her husband, Randy, of Mebane; and a brother, Eddie Bennett and his wife, Phyllis, of Snow Camp. A memorial service will be conducted at 4:00 Monday, November 9, 2009 at Trinity Baptist Church by Pastor Tommy Bright. The family will receive friends from 1-5 PM Sunday afternoon at his sister's, Bonnie Rose, home, 2556 S. Jim Minor Rd., Mebane.
