Gibsonville Mrs. Hazel May Apple, age 82, of 7259 Abb Rd., passed away Friday, June 29, 2007 at The Evergreens in Greensboro. A native of Guilford County, she was the wife of the late Boyd Glenn Apple and daughter of the late Leslie Jordan and Ethel Barber May. She was a retired secretary with the Minneola Plant of Cone Mills in Gibsonville. She was an active member of Apples Chapel Christian Church where she was the former financial secretary, a former member of the Building Committee and was Treasurer of the Sunshine Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Action in Aging Club in Gibsonville, the AIA Singers, a volunteer at Moses Cone Hospital, a member of the former Bucks and Does Dancers and the Shallowford Squares. Survivors include her son, Michael Apple and wife Becky of Gibsonville; daughter, Patti Smith and husband Ed of Brown Summit; grandchildren, Matthew Apple, Sarah Apple Campbell and husband Chad and Aimee Troxler Henderson and husband Brian; 2 great grandchildren; Pace Henderson and Ella Jane Henderson; nephew Randy Randolph and wife Susan and a great nephew Matthew Randolph. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a sister, Minneola Randolph. Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Sunday at Apples Chapel Christian Church by Rev. C. Allen Myers, III, officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Apple will remain at Lowe Funeral Home until 5:00pm Saturday when she will be taken to the church where the family will receive friends from 6-8pm. The family will be at 7259 Abb Rd.
