Helen Dodson Carrow, 95, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at ARMC following a short illness. A native of Alamance County, she was born to the late Fred and Jessie Cates Dodson and was the wife of the late William Zeb Carrow. Helen was a longtime member of Davis St. United Methodist Church where her passion for the Lord was evident in her service to the church. She was a member of the United Methodist Women's Group and the Golden Rule Sunday School Class. Helen worked for many years at Kayser-Roth where she later retired. She is survived by her daughters, Ann Gorzek and husband, Chuck of Haw River, Pam Holland and husband, Jimmy of Anderson, SC and Bett Waddell and husband, Mike of Burlington; a sister, Hilda Fogleman of Burlington; grandchildren, Ronald Jere Butler, Jr. and wife, Tina, Michael Todd Smith and wife, Catherine and Stacey G. Perfetto and husband, Carl and great grandchildren, Trey Butler, Kelly, Kristy and Karly Butler, Brayden and Syler Perfetto and Finnley and Stella Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sisters, Ruth Hinshaw, Louise "Beezie" Carter, Nellie Clark and Margaret Dodson. The funeral service will be held 2:00pm, Monday, January 21, 2013 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Ellen McCubbin and Rev. Wilbur Jackson with a private burial to follow. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45 prior to the service on Monday at Lowe Funeral Home and other times at her daughter, Bett's home in Burlington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Davis St. United Methodist Church, 606 E. Davis St., Burlington, NC 27215.
