Helen Stewart McVaugh McCall

Helen Stewart McVaugh McCall, a beloved mother, wife, grandmother, and sister, passed away on November 19, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on June 5, 1942, in Chester County, Pennsylvania, she grew up in Hockessin, Delaware. There she grew to have a deep appreciation for family and a love for nature that would stay with her throughout her life.

Helen’s career took her to Washington, DC where she worked on the Congressional Staff of Congressman William C. Wampler. Later after marriage, her true passion lay in caring for her family. She found joy in the simple tasks of daily life, loving each moment spent with her loved ones with warmth and laughter. Helen's creative spirit was evident in her artistic pursuits; she delighted in various hobbies, with a special knack for handcrafting beautiful beaded flowers. She enjoyed sharing her talent by generously sharing her skills by teaching others how to create their own intricate designs.

Helen enjoyed gardening, loved to cook, and volunteered at the North Carolina Botanical Garden, while living in Chapel Hill, NC before moving to Twin Lakes Community in Burlington. She was surrounded by the love of her family, including her devoted husband of 57 years, George McCall, her daughter Mary Elizabeth McCall, and her cherished grandson Copeland Timmer. The bonds she had with her sisters, Johann McKee (Chris) and Mary Jane Cassatt, were invaluable fixtures in her life, providing unwavering support and camaraderie.

Though Helen has departed from this earthly realm, she leaves behind a legacy rich with love, creativity, and cherished memories. A guiding light in the lives she touched, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and adored her, as well as in the beautiful beaded flowers that embody her artistic soul.

Helen is greeted in the afterlife by her dear parents, Charles Franklin McVaugh and Mary Dauberman, who undoubtedly welcome her with open arms. She will be deeply missed, but her vibrant spirit and the legacy of love she crafted will forever linger in the lives she touched.
