Burlington, NC Helen Martin Stovall, 87, formerly of Melody Lane went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 25, 2007 at the Presbyterian Home of Hawfields. She was the wife of the late Russell Quinton Stovall and a native of Patrick County, Virginia. Helen retired after many years with Wrightenberry Hosiery and was a member of Glen Hope Baptist Church and a member of the Harper Burke Sunday School Class. Helen was an avid gardner and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and great grandmother. Survivors include her, daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and David Phillips of Burlington; grandchildren and spouses, Carmen Phillips Cederholm and her husband, Christian of Mebane and Casey Phillips Emmendorfer and her husband Rich of Lawton, Oklahoma, Jody Childress of Greensboro, Michelle Childress of Eden; great grandson, Austin Childress of Eden and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Sylvia Childress; parents, James Dalton and Ellis Lawson Martin; seven sisters and three brothers. The Stovall family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Presbyterian Home of Hawfields for their kind and compassionate care of Helen over the past several years. The graveside service will be held on Monday, May 28, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Alamance Memorial Park by Rev. Bob Stephenson and the family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. on Monday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory prior to the graveside service.
