Burlington, NC Helen Crow Wilson, age 80, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 16, 2006 at the Hospice Home. She was born on April 25, 1926, at Drayton, South Carolina, to the late Smith and Ethel Crow. Helen was a retired business teacher of East Davidson High School of Thomasville, NC. She had also taught at Brevard Jr. College,Kennedys Commercial School, and Mitchell College. She received her BS in Commerce degree from Winthrop College and her MEd degree from UNC-G. Helen volunteered for nursing homes in Thomasville and Burlington for many years. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church and organizations within the church. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda W. And Robert Blanchfield of Kernersville; son and daughter-in-law, Woody and Terrie Wilson of Wake Forrest; grandchildren, Toni Ray and her husband, Brandon, Gary T. Davis and his wife, Tina, Kyle and Mark Wilson; step grandchildren, Bobby and Bill Blanchfield; great grandchildren, Matthew and Garrett Davis, Lauren Davis, Samantha and Peyton Ray; sisters, Alma Stroud of Georgia, Margaret Risch-Kime and Elizabeth Wood both of Spartinburg, South Carolina; brothers, Smith Crow, Jr. of Eden and Ronald Crow of Pinehurst; ten nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Virginia Brown; brother, Marvin Crow. The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 19, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bruce Brown officiating. The entombment will be at the Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 18, 2006 at the funeral home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Northside Baptist Church, 513 Homewood Avenue, Burlington, NC 27215 or Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215 or to the charity of the donors choice.
