Hettie Forbes
Moore
Jan 14, 1940 — Jun 19, 2026
Mrs. Hettie Forbes Moore, 86, of Graham, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 19, 2026.
Hettie was born January 14, 1940 in Rockingham County to George Forbes, Jr. and Cora Perry Forbes. With her wide variety of work history and hobbies, she was known to many in the community. She owned Micki-Lynn’s Dress Shop for several years in the 1980s and 90s until switching her career to the Alamance County tax department. After retirement, she shared her passion for stained glass making, sharing her knowledge with others for over 15 years at Alamance Community College. Her faith and church family were very important to her, and Hettie loved attending New Covenant Fellowship Church. Above all, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the center of her life and even in times of challenging health, always had a kind word for or showed concern for those who meant the most to her.
Hettie is survived by her son, Eric Moore and wife Deanne; grandchildren, Meagan Elkes and husband Justin, Matthew Fields and wife Anna, Jarod Moore and fiancée Caitlin, and Benjamin Moore and fiancée Gabriella; great-grandchildren, Evangeline Elkes and Elliot Bell Elkes; brother, Herman Forbes; and son in law, Bill Fields. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Willie “Bill” Moore; daughter, Sherri Fields; sister, Beth Forbes Ward; and brothers, Garland Forbes and Donald Forbes.
Visitation and service dates are pending.
Memorial donations may be made to New Covenant Fellowship Church (ncfcgraham.org) or The National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation (npcf.us).
