Ila Dickens

Whitsett- Ila Faye Fowler Dickens, age 73, passed away Thursday March 18, 2021 while at the Hospice Home of Alamance. She was born on July 22, 1947 to the late Buddy C. and Delphia Carter Fowler.

Faye worked for Suntrust Bank as a loan officer and retired from Labcorp. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church and attended First Baptist Church of Haw River.  She was a member of the Jaycettes.  She enjoyed meeting friends at the Kernodle Senior Center. Faye was a faithful wife, mother and grandmother.  She loved her family, grandchildren and great grandchild very much and will be missed by all.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond “Ray” Elmer Dickens; sister, Lillian Ellington; and a brother, Jerry LaGrant Fowler.

She is survived by her son, Eddie Dickens and wife, Lisa of Whitsett; grandchildren: Edy Marie Dickens, Matthew Ray Dickens and wife, Victoria and Nichole Lynn Matherly; great grandchild, Mason Robert Dickens; brothers: Ronnie Fowler and wife, Maria of Caswell County, and Harry Fowler and wife, Judy of Burlington; and sister, Brenda Turner and husband, Tommy of Columbia, SC.

A funeral service will be held on Monday March 22, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel with the interment to follow at Alamance Memorial Park.  Public viewing will be held at Lowe Funeral Home on Sunday, March 21 from 11:00 AM till 4:30 PM and Monday from 9:00 AM till 1:45 PM. At other times the family will be at the home. The service will be live streamed on the Lowe Funeral Home website below for any unable to attend.
