Ira Wayne Jordan, 74, of Saxapahaw, passed away on March 2, 2026. Born in Moore County on June 25, 1951, Wayne was a man of hard work, quick wit, and deep devotion to his family.
A proud graduate of NC State University with a degree in textiles, Wayne dedicated 20 years to the textile industry before transitioning to a 13-year career as a rural mail carrier. He was known by colleagues and neighbors alike for his reliability, gentle spirit and kindness to everyone.
Outside of work, Wayne was an avid reader and enthusiastic outdoorsman who found joy in camping and backpacking. At home, he was the undisputed master of the grill. Above all, his greatest joy was his family. He was a pillar of wisdom for his sons and a source of endless fun for his six grandchildren.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Bessie and Carl Jordan, and his brother, Joel Jordan. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Patricia Jordan; his sons, Brian (Marsha) Jordan and Jason (Anne) Jordan; and his six beloved grandchildren: Jaxon, Kaelyn, Hadley, Rivers, Payson, and Sparrow.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 6, at Christian Bible Fellowship (1290 Springwood Church Rd, Gibsonville, NC). The family will receive friends during a visitation beginning at 10:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Christian Bible Fellowship mission house fund.
